Pop of Pink

Happy Friday, and a Good Friday at that (ha... my attempt at a joke).  I hope you guys do not have to work (unlike my boyfriend *sad face*) and are spending the day with friends, family, and loved ones!

It's officially Spring and I'm stillll wearing chunky sweaters, which I do love, but it's time to put them away... can't we agree?! Bring on the sunshine and sundresses please!

In order to bring some color into my life, as it seems the flowers will not be blooming for a while up here in New England, I had to wear my new Etta Cap Toe Pumps from J. Crew - I love how they literally appear to be glowing!

I also love this eyelet trim on the bottom of my Gap sweater... I'm pretty sure it's the only reason I bought it in the first place!

... Oh how I love these shoes... happy feet, happy lady!

And my knot earrings make another appearance... they're perfect for everyday wear!

Sweater: Gap // Jeans: J. Crew (old) // Shoes: J. Crew (now on sale!) // Bag: Pour la Victoire // Necklace: gifted from bestie, Jess // Sunnies: Color in Optics // Ring: gifted // Earrings: little shop in NYC

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Princesses Wear Plaid Too

Princess Caroline of Monaco, 1977. [via]

I was reading the WSJ Fashion section today (and yes... that does exist!) and stumbled upon an article about this picture taken of Princess Caroline of Monaco in her early 20's. How beautiful is she?! I love everything about this picture - a young royal, just at the beginning of making a life for herself, relaxing at home on the couch and looking super chic in tartan and stacks of gold bangles. This picture is stunning. She is stunning. And this outfit, you guessed it, is stunning. The author of the article says it best:

"The scene—the princess sitting barefoot, reading with her terrier, Tiffany, by her side—catches a last fleeting moment of girlhood. In a way, so does her very pink plaid shirt. With a pope collar and a double row of buttons, the raspberry tartan is at once rebellious and chaste. The shiny taffeta hints at the formal dresser she'd become, and elevates the casual style to more regal status."
-- Alexa Brazilian, WSJ

It's amazing how much one picture can say! I find myself staring at this and admiring her, and not just for her amazing sense of style, but her poise, grace, elegance, and attitude that shine through. Not to mention, I love me some plaid and it's nice to see princesses wear plaid too, because what girl doesn't want to feel like a princess every once and a while?! I feel like I must go find a taffeta plaid shirt now... I'll be on the hunt!

You guys can read the rest of the WSJ article here!

Hope you all had a lovely day, happy reading! Xo

One Sweatshirt, Two Ways

Same Gap sweatshirt, just another day... like I said in yesterday's post (found here), this 'Sunkissed Pullover' is my go-to! While it's still chic, I paired this pullover with jeans and a bright scarf for a more relaxed and comfy weekend-wear look.

I really love my Sam Edelman shoes, I scored big time finding these at TJ Maxx!

I highly suggest everyone go run out and get this pullover immediately - it was a great buy! I may need to go back and buy it in a few more colors, myself!

Sweatshirt chic

Who says sweatshirts can't be chic? Because I completely disagree!

I picked up this sweatshirt from Gap a few weeks ago and it has instantly become a go-to in my closet. It's super comfy (as sweatshirts should be!), somehow still makes me have a shape, and is in this fantastic blue/lavender color!

This skirt... words can't describe my love for it.  I'm a sucker for ikat and the blues make it chic and sophisticated! I stumbled upon this at Target and didn't think twice before picking it up and purchasing it immediately! I can't wait to style this with cute blouses and sweaters once Spring finallyyy shows up.

Also found this darling white tassel necklace at Target... it was a good shopping day!

Love my gold knot earrings!

Red Lip & A White T

Happy Friday all! I am fortunate to have the day off from work today so I will be starting this weekend a little early - I am definitely not complaining!

As much as I love getting all dolled up in cute dresses and skirts, sometimes I just want to throw on jeans and a T-shirt, and call it a day!

This white T from Gap may be the most comfy shirt I own, plus it can be worn with so many different things - black pants and a blazer, tuck it into a skirt, and the possibilities just keep on going!

This leopard scarf from Zara was one of my favorite buys this fall... I especially love the red border on the bottom of it! Also, I thought a red lip was appropriate to jazz up this outfit!

Quick story to these jeans - I bought these 7 for all Mankind jeans probably about 4 or 5 years ago, when the flared leg was "in"! I probably hadn't worn them in about 4 years, but they are a perfectly good pair of jeans! I did not feel like paying another $200 for a pair of distressed jeans when I already had these... so, I decided to bring them to a tailor to see if they could hem them and make them into a skinny leg... and sure enough... it literally looks like a new pair of jeans, and it only cost me $25!

Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Shirt: Gap // Jeans: 7 for all Mankind (old/tailored) // Scarf: Zara (this Fall) // Bag: vintage Coach (my mom's!) // Heels: Vince Camuto // Watch: MK // Bracelet: J. Crew and Etsy // Sunnies: Ray Ban // Lipstick: Revlon Colorstay 'Finale'

Blues & Greens

And Joe Fresh does it again... I am in LOVE with my new skirt (and yes... for anyone who has read my last few posts, I went a little crazy on my first trip there).

My favorite thing about this skirt is the geometric patterns in bold blues and greens, and how these colors are a nice contrast to the normal pastels and brights we're seeing, while still being perfect for Spring!

I picked up this cute envelope clutch from Francesca's last year and it just so happened to go perfectly with my skirt! Since there was a lot of blue and green going on, I decided to pair this skirt with a plum colored shirt. There are hints of yellow and white in the skirt too, so a pastel yellow, white, or even something fun like a pink shirt would also look great with this!

I try to be sensible with my shopping addiction ("try" being the key word here) by buying things that are versatile, and this was one purchase that I can definitely say is great for both work and play! And yes... I pulled out my white heels and refuse to put them back into the back of my closet!

Showcasing my favorite pair of earrings... I bought them 4 years ago at Lord and Taylor and still wear them all the time! Best $20 I ever spent... And for all of you Pinterest fanatics like myself, I found this elephant ring on there and literally HAD to have it - I wear this bad boy every day!

Shirt: Loft (this winter) // Skirt: Joe Fresh // Shoes: Blake Scott via Off Broadway Shoes (old) // Clutch: Francesca's // Necklace: Banana Republic // Bracelets: J. Crew and Kate Spade // Watch: MK // Rings: David Yurman, NOVICA, gifted braided ring and monogram ring // Earrings: Lord and Taylor (old) // Sunnies: Color in Optic

A Graphic Moment

Graphic T's, sweaters, and sweatshirts are really having a moment and I'm kind of loving it.  Whether I can actually pull this trend off is a totally other matter but I'm definitely willing to give it a shot! I've been searching around for some options that I think fit my personality and I've definitely found a few that are on trend, and still classy and chic.

On a recent trip to J. Crew, I found this beauty and almost died...

This cashmere "Darling" sweater screams 'me'... at least I like to think so! Unfortunately, this girl cannot afford an almost $400 sweater... sigh.  I'm going to hope that maybe I can snag this lovely on sale at some point down the road...

I also LOVE this one I found on Piperlime by Sol Angeles.

This sweater is super chic, on trend, and easily versatile with anyone's closet! Plus, definitely more affordable at $98, and how amazing does it look with this sequin skirt?! My brain is already thinking of how many different outfits I could make with this beauty!

This sweater from Old Navy is so presh... I love the simplistic "love" in bright colors - so perfect for Spring and cool nights in the Summer... and it's on sale for $20! This graphic T is great for any fashionista and can pair it with shorts, jeans, a cute flowy skirt... the possibilities are endless (also, on sale for only $8.99!).

Decisions.. decisions... now which one(s) to get?

Do you guys have any favorite graphic T's or sweaters that you're loving right now?

Mint & Lace

Spring is only a week away (officially) and I have officially brought out my mint jeans!

I found this great lace shirt from Joe Fresh (one of my other purchases from my first excursion there!) - I love navy and mint together. And in true fashion, had to add a pop of pink to contrast all of the blue/green! Also, I'm so obsessed with my bow flats that I found at TJ.Maxx while in FL a few weeks ago... they're too cute and perfect for the coming months! Since they went with my outfit so perfectly, I ignored the fact that there was snow on the ground and wore them anyway!

Shirt: Joe Fresh // Jeans: Guess // Clutch: J. Crew // Shoes: BCBGeneration (via TJ. Maxx) // Watch: MK // Bracelets: Kate Spade, TJ Maxx // Necklace: gifted Anthropology // Earrings: Kate Spade // Sunnies: Color in Optic // Rings: gifted and vintage

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Happy Weekend!

I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I just love waking up knowing I have no plans and I can have a do-nothing, lazy weekend... and that is exactly my plan... except maybe a little shopping (of course). If you guys are also planning on doing a little shopping this weekend, here are some things that I have my eye on!

  • These leggings... are amazing - perf with a simple white T.
  • Newest obsession: Loeffler Randall handbags - especially this one and this one.
  • Lovely tabletop books like this one.
  • Big hats are my thing for spring, I really love this one
  • Dying for these white cap toe pumps.

Red Pleats

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you guys have had a nice week so far... only two more days until the weekend!

I recently discovered the Joe Fresh Brand and I am one happy lady... even though my wallet is not! I was shopping around there a few weekends ago and came across this darling red pleated skirt!

What I love about this skirt, besides the obviously amazing geometric print in different hues of red and orange, is that it's very diverse. It's work appropriate, yet playful enough that you can wear it on the weekend, for a date night, or a ladies night! There are so many different ways to wear it and I cannot wait to carry this through the Spring and Summer months!

While this skirt will also look great with cute sandals or wedges in the coming months, it's still chilly outside and a traditional pump seemed to be the best fit, so I put on these adorable and super comfy (no really, they are!) Vince Camuto calf-hair pumps!

My lemon-colored Coach mini tanner crossbody is becoming my go-to... it literally goes with everything!
