2013 SAG Awards: Best Dressed

As award season rolls on, the dresses keep on coming and I can't help but keep getting more excited! I loved the SAG Awards last night, the gowns were great and the men looked quite spiffy in their suits. It seemed that the biggest trends last night were black, navy, and white, and not too many risks, which was surprising! Regardless, the women looked super chic and ready for a fun night. Here are my top picks for best dressed:

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen - huge improvement from her Golden Globes dress

Nicole Kidman looks STUNNING in this blue and black Vivienne Westwood beaded gown

Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab - sleek, chic, and pretty in pink!

Amanda Seyfried - this navy blue Zac Posen gown is to die for. The detail on the bottom... just love!
Busy Philipps in Gabriela Cadena - rocking a tight gown with her baby pump, she looks amazing!

In the spotlight: Burberry Prorsum SS13

Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend!

Since one of the big trends we'll be seeing this Spring is metallics,  I decided to highlight Burberry Prorsum as one of my favorites that is taking the metallics and running with it! I can't help but walk by the Burberry store everyday on my way to work and just stare in envy at all of the wonderful bags in bright hues. What I love most is that the actual design of the bags are classic and the metallic colors really give it a POP. Plus, these trench coats are to die for!

2013 Golden Globes

Gosh I LOVE Awards Season!! I absolutely loved the Golden Globes last night and not just the fashion... very pleased with the winners and Amy Poehler and Tina Fey were too funny - I hope they'll be invited back next year!

Now onto the fashion! The trends seemed to be a lot of red, neutral tones (beige, pale pink, white, etc), and black on the red carpet. There were plenty that I loved... and some that I didn't... but let's start with the best!

Claire Danes in Versace - I'm sorry, you had a baby when? A month ago? Damn.

Katherine McPhee in Theysken's Theory

Hayden Panettiere in Roberto Cavalli

Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan - love this color!

Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney - now that's how you wear a pant suit!

Adele in Burberry - love the dress and she looks beautiful but wish she would wear something a bit more risky and some color!

Taylor Swift in Donna Karan Atelier - so happy she went for a chic sophisticated look!

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture - love the color, but not crazy about the pointy boobs. HOWEVER - for someone who had the flu and still managed to look this gorg, you go girl

Stacey Kiebler in Armani Prive "right off the plane from Paris" - she looks gorg but not so crazy about the hair!

Leonardo DiCaprio never fails

Holy moly Jessica Alba... you are beautiful (no new news)!

Love Anne Hathaway, especially in this Chanel gown... just wish she added SOME sort of color or something whether it be a cuff or a different clutch.

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors ... hot damn. This is lovely.

Ben Affleck... I love you... oh and you look wonderful in this tux.

Hugh Jackman also looking quite spiffy.

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu... I love this and I love that she was daring and went with a shorter hemline!

Lea Michelle

Kate Hudson looks amazing in Alexander McQueen!!

So many great looks, I couldn't get enough! Then on the other side... there were a few that I was just not so crazy about.

Jessica Chastain.. love the color and dislike just about everything else. You are beautiful - what were you thinking?!

Sienna Miller .... just no.

Halle Berry usually looks phenomenal but this... this was a big miss.

I'm also still undecided on this one...

Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrara ... I applaud her for taking a risk... and I don't not like it...
What are your thoughts?? Who were your favorites?

Style Inspiration - McKenna Bleu

Hello Everyone! Hope your weekends are off to a great start!

So as my quest to find more blogs for inspiration continues, I have stumbled upon another one that I LOVE: McKenna Bleu's blog. McKenna's blog is filled with amazingly preppy, glam, and fabulous outfits that she masterly puts together.  I seem to love them all, but here are some of the best (in my opinion, of course!):

Whether it be plaid, sparkle, tweed, dots, or tulle, McKenna has a flawless way of incorporating these different materials together and adding the perfect accessories to go with them... definitely a style inspiration for any fashionista out there!

What do you think of McKenna's fashion sense!?

Prabal Gurung for Target

I don't know about you guys, but I am beyond thrilled that it is Friday! To get the weekend started off right, I have some great news to share for those fashionistas out there who love high-end fashion and do not have the wallet to support that love, like myself! Famed designer Prabal Gurung has created an affordable (it actually is, too!!) collection for Target, which will be available February 10th! Target just released preview looks for the collection and I gotta say, I'm loving it.  Here are a few of my favorites:

The collection is flirty, edgy, and glam with the use of color-block designs, floral patterns, and bold colors.  I also love the small details that are added to the designs, like the bows (of course, my favorite), the synched waists, and these amazing shoes!! The best part is that the collection will allow you a seamless transition from Winter to Spring!
