Obsession of the Day - Kira Kira

Hello Everyone! Sorry that I have been MIA for a while... it seems that work and the holiday season has kept me away and busy.  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your friends and family! Picking back up with my 'Obsession of the Day' posts, this one is about a fantastic jewelry line called Kira Kira.  My lovely roommate told me about this brand after stoping by it's little shop at 'The Holiday Shops by Bryant Park.' So of course I went down to Bryant Park today to check it out and I am so happy that I did! The designer, Suz Somersall, creates amazing, elegant, timeless, and trendy pieces of jewelry.  She handpicks all the stones herself, which just adds a personal touch to her collection. While at the shop, I picked up this beauty:

Gold Lapis Belle Epoque Ring

I am so in love with this ring and could not be more thrilled to have it. It's classy and bold, an everyday ring or could even be worn as a cocktail-style ring for a night out. And for those of you who do not live in NYC, they have an online boutique that you can shop at! Enjoy :)

Fur'real, I want one of these!

Ok all, as winter is finally here (minus this fluke of warm weather we had today), it's time to pull out the fur coats and vests! Fur'real, here are a few that I'm lovin.

This one's my favorite!!

Dress them up or down, day or night, these furs can add a great statement to any outfit, especially when the weather is chilly!

Obsession of the Day

Happy Sunday All! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I have decided to start a new series of posts called "Obsession of the Day," since it seems that I always seem to find something new to add to my Wish List (which I literally have written down in a Note on my iPhone)!

First "Obsession of the Day" is this absolutely beautiful Dana Rebecca Designs bow necklace!

'Margo Ashley' Necklace

I have a serious obsession with bows in general and this necklace would be a perfect addition to my jewelry wardrobe! 14K gold chain with 0.09 carats of diamonds ... I'm drooling! This would be the perfect everyday necklace, that can be dressed up or down, and would be great to stack along side other necklaces. I better start saving... !

Comfy Cozy

Today's Outfit of the Day was an all black outfit paired with a tweed jacket and a super comfy knit-snood scarf! I decided to take a walk to Anthropologie during lunch and saw this amazing armoire with mirrored doors... So I had to take a snap shot!

Inslee by Design

So as a young woman now living on her own, I'm attempting to start decorating my apartment! I came across Inslee by Design on a few blogs and I became completely obsessed with their prints. Here are a few of my favorites:

These prints are just so cute and feminine. I would love to frame them all and hang them up in my living room or in a hall way - really anywhere where they can be admired! And as a bonus, the prints are only $20, which is great for any budget!

Browsing around on The Zoe Report yesterday, I came across this and just had to share.

It's true, anyone and everyone is beautiful as long as they believe it themself. Let the beauty shine from within, everyone will see it!

Style Inspiration

So I hope you all are familiar with Blair Eadie's blog, Atlantic-Pacific ... and if not, you must go visit it right now... it's too great to wait much longer! But for real, she is someone to look up to for fashion inspiration. Her outfits are so well put together and literally to die for.

From October 25th:

(outfit details: here)

This outfit is absolutely fall perfection. Her use of grey and black make for a super chic and comfy look. Where to even start... well, first off, I'm in love with this bag and I think we can all agree that this coat is seriously amazing, paired with leather leggings and a chunky sweater... I'm experiencing some style envy.  I'll take it all please.

From October 31st:

(outfit details: here)

From Blair's post today... another maj outfit. A simple, elegant, and chic black & white ensemble with oversized sunnys and a Chanel bag... enough said... sigh... more style envy occuring!

One Kings Lane ~ vintage finds

While browsing on One Kings Lane's Vintage & Market Finds today, I came across these to-die-for mirrors that will be sure to brighten up any room! I hope my obsession with mirrors doesn't make me seem vain, but the amazing details and intrictate designs of the mirrors below just drew me right in!

The Wood Sunburst Mirror is just gorg and would look great in really any room of a house... one can never wrong with sunburst mirrors!  The pair of Star Mirrors are just too cute and would give some great asymmetry to any wall... I can picture them in a four-seasons porch of some sort! The Vintage Cast Iron Ivy Frame mirror should be in a library, surrounded by antique books and comfy furniture! I'm currently drooling over the Brass Leaf Mirror and can picture it hanging above a mantel with the light from a fire reflecting off of it... sigh. And last, but not least, this Gilt Mirror would be perf for a bathroom or small parlor area! Since my apartment is the size of a shoebox, I will dream of my future home where I can place pieces like these in every room!

Denim on Denim

A major trend this Fall has been Denim on Denim, which originally scared me to pieces.  Normally, this would be a major faux pas but if done correctly, this look has proven to be a clean and super chic look! I tried it out today and I'm pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

Chambray shirt from Madewell, dark wash matchstick jeans from J. Crew, tortoius shell necklace from J. Crew (old), and a brown braided leather belt (can't remember from where!) to make it a tad bit more preppy and my style. I wore this with cute Nine West flats today, but this could be dressed up a bit with a colorful cardigan, a pair of heels, and some lovely arm candy!

Purchases of the Day

Since Hurricane Sandy is on it's way to NYC, I decided to spend a day outside on the streets and, of course, did some shopping! I dropped by the BCBG flagship store on Madison Ave to look at a bag I've had my eye on and instead came out with these wonderful gems.

This beautiful gold collar necklace and feather ring are perfect for any occasion and some must-haves for fall. The feather ring can be worn as a cocktail-type ring but knowing myself, I will definitely wear this everyday! And the gold collar necklace is just majorly amazing - you can wear this with just about anything and will definitely add a touch of classy chic to an outfit!

I then found myself at Zara, which is definitely my new go-to store for just about everything.  After forcing myself not to buy the entire store, I decided on this gorg and classic brown leather bag:

This bag is so perfect for Fall and will definitely still be of use as we transition into Winter.  It's not too heavy and has a great shape, not to mention it's big enough to hold really anything you'll need. It's perfect for work or just a casual day outing!

Decorative Trays

I've had it in my mind to buy a decorative tray for my apartment and I stumbled upon some AMAZING ones on  I'm super obsessed with this lacquered tray in metallic gold (above)... I would love to use this to put my watch and bracelets on!
THEN there's this Turquoise Zebra print one....
AND THEN there's also this tray with Navy Nautical Knots....

I love them all... now which one to get... maybe all three!? Already thinking of where I could place them...

Books and Shoes

So I don't know who to give credit to for this wonderful saying, but I cannot agree more! Strange since I've never been a "shoe" girl until I moved to NYC, but now I'm easily running out of room for all of mine! And my love for books is endless... so enough said... WHERE can I find this so I can hang it up in my bedroom?!

First Post

My love for fashion, interior design, antiques, inspirational quotes, and the simple things in life have inspired me to create this blog. I seem to find a thousand different things I love every day, so I'm going to start blogging about them and hopefully you'll love them too!
