Chic Flats for Fall

Happy Hump Day y'all!! I can't believe tomorrow is OCTOBER (it also happens to be my birthday!). While its pouring rain and humid as h*ll out there, my mind is fully focused on Fall clothing! There is nothing better than cozy sweaters, comfy jeans, and good pair of booties (in my opinion). While booties are amazing, and a favorite of mine, they tend to get all of our attention during the colder months. However, I think a chic pair of flats can really go a long way and can vamp up your Fall wardrobe when boots and booties just won't work.

I've rounded up a whole bunch of my favorites that will take you from Fall all the way through Spring!

(from left to right)
1. Nicholas Kirkwood point toe flats (on my wish list!!)
2. M.Gemi Felize moccasins
3. Everlane point toe flats
4. Vince d'Orsay flat
7. Topshop Pointy Toe Ghillie Flat (obsessed with the tassels on these!!)
10. Jeffrey Campbell Suede Flat (the bows!!!)

Happy Shopping!

Weekly Recap

And in a blink of an eye, the week is over like that! This week, while super busy, seemed to go by soooo slowly. Needless to say, I am SO happy the weekend is finally here. I plan to take it easy and do...well... not much! I could really use a few lazy days or vegging out on the couch :)

Pretty new Kendra Scott earrings I bought while up in Rochester.

Tuesday was a BIG day because we FINALLY HAD BEDROOM FURNITURE DELIVERED!!! Hallelujah, no more sleeping on the floor for this girl! We purchased it from Jordan's Furniture and we couldn't be happier. Here's the link to the furniture, and yes, it looks WAY better in person. Now all I need is to buy a lamp for that nightstand and get something hung up on the wall.

Monday's outfit details | Dress: CeCe via Lord & Taylor (my favorite purchase from my trip to Rochester!) // Shoes: Target
Tuesday's outfit details | Sweater: Primark, not available online // Jeans: American Eagle (comfiest jeans EVER and so affordable. Also AE is having a buy one get one 50% off sale on all denim!!) // Flats: Target (old) // Headband: J. Crew
Wednesday's outfit details | Blouse: Nordstrom // Skirt: Prabal Gurung X Target (old) // Vest: Ann Taylor (no longer available online but similar here) // Flats: Zara (also pictured below)

Thursday outfit details | Top: Loft (on sale!) // Jeans: J. Brand // Shoes: Kate Spade (via TJ Maxx, old)
Friday outfit details | Sweater: Banana Republic (on sale!) // Flares: Free People // Necklace: vintage

Cutest mug I purchased at Anthropologie for the office. I couldn't resist this as "Hello There" is my favorite greeting <3

New in: BaubleBar Pearl Broom Ear Jackets. LOVE. So obsessed with them.

I finally caved and bought myself a Minnie & Emma custom phone case! While definitely a bit pricey, it is worth every penny! The quality is great and it's just simple pretty to look at!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Weekly Recap: Trips to Denver and Rochester

Happy Monday! Last week was a CRAZY week filled with traveling! I was in Denver for half the week for a work offsite and then road tripped up to Rochester, NY to visit my best friend for the weekend!

I wore the below dress to work on Monday. I bought this at Primark (for only $18!!!) and I absolutely love it! It's super comfy and is a great color for Fall and Winter. I also love the belt (helps gives me some shape!) AND it comes with a slip built in underneath (thank goodness).

Dress: Primark // Shoes: Gilt

I flew out to Denver, CO first thing Tuesday morning and wore the below for the trip. I always wear pants when I travel on planes... something about bare legs on airplane seats really irks me out!

Outfit details| Jacket: J. Crew (similar here) // Blouse: Nordstrom (can't find this color online anymore, but more colors are available // Jeans and Shoes: Target

This was my first time in Denver and I must say it is a beautiful city!! The views of the Rockies are simply breath taking! We started off with a group scavenger hunt around the city, which was a blast and gave us the opportunity to walk around and explore.

On Wednesday, we did a full day of work-related content and then headed out to  Red Rocks Amphitheater for some tailgating and a concert. This place is by far the COOLEST concert venue I have ever been. It is literally built into the red rocks! But wow, it is QUITE the hike to get up to the theater. I was definitely not  dressed appropriately!

Outfit details|  Top: Theory (via Nordstrom Rack) // Jeans: J. Brand // Shoes: Sam Edelman

Outfit Details| Bag: ASOS (this color is no longer available, but a different color available here) // Watch: Michael Kors // Bracelets: Madewell (currently 30% off!), David Yurman

Thursday was our last day in Denver. We had more meetings and such in the morning, then headed out for a quick bite before heading to the airport. I changed into the below outfit before checking out so that I would be comfy for the flight back to Boston. Comfort is key when traveling, especially when your plan lands at Midnight!

Outfit details| Sweater and leggings: Target // Shoes: Keds // Bag: Annabel Ingall (via Bloomingdales) // Headband: J. Crew

Prettiest view I snapped during take off!

I didn't get home until 2 am on Friday morning (insert sad face emoji) and had to get up by 6 to shower and (sorta) re-pack for my trip to Rochester! I may be smiling in this picture, but I was dying inside (SO TIRED).

Outfit details| Shirt: J. Crew (old, but similar here) // Vest: Old Navy (old, but other military style outerwear here)  // Jeans: Madewell // Shoes: J. Crew  // Bag: Nordstrom

Made it to Rochester and we went out for Mexican and then went back to her apartment to watch and a movie and go to bed early! Then got up on Saturday, enjoyed breakfast at Jine's Restaurant and spent the day doing what we do best, shopping!

After 5 hours at the mall (this is no joke people), we changed and got ready for dinner and drinks. I wore the below outfit out, as it was quite rainy and the temperature dropped like crazy!

Outfit details| Top: Nordstrom (same as above, but in white) // Jeans: J. Brand // Shoes: Vince Camuto (via Nordstrom Rack, old) // Monogram Necklace: BaubleBar // Earrings: Rebecca Minkoff (via TJ Maxx)

We went to dinner at Trata and had the best burgers ever! Also, I'm obsessed with the light fixtures they had installed there.

After a delicious dinner, we headed to Good Luck for a little night cap. Another place with such a great atmosphere! When we pulled into the parking lot, the first thing I noticed was the below Stop sign and couldn't resist taking a snap of it. The real question here is why would anyone want to stop being fancy?!

After a much needed coffee and bagel run on Sunday morning, we headed to the CUTEST shop, Parkleigh. I pretty much could have bought the whole store. But this mural was painted on the side of their parking lot and I couldn't resist taking a picture with it!

Parkleigh had a crazy awesome selection of Ban.do goodies and it took all of my power to not buy it all. Seriously. I did end up purchasing a beautiful pearl necklace and this is super comfy long white vest from the shop. I can't wait to wear them both!

I had such a fun week, but man, am I tired. Now, another Monday is here and another work week begins. Hope you have a great week!

Weekly Recap

Happy Monday pretties!

I'm thinking of starting up a weekly recap post to show you guys my daily outfits (which I usually share on Instagram - follow me here: @mackenziehaley) and to simply share what's been going on in my life! Hopefully you all enjoy it and if not, then please let me know, so I don't write posts that you could care less about! hah

Outfit 1: I wore this last Friday to work and cannot tell you guys how many compliments I received on it! Since the 70's are coming back in full swing, I decided to buy a pair of flared jeans just to see if I could pull them off. I must admit, I am kind of obsessed with them. They make me feel SUPER tall and lean, which I appreciate as I am a kind of a shorty. The only downfall is I have to wear REALLY tall shoes with them (or eventually go get them hemmed a bit), but this is something I can easily get over haha.

Details: Primark top (only $15!!) and Free People jeans (purchased at Nordstrom)

Outfit 2 Details: Piperlime dress (super old)

Outfit 3: The minute I laid eyes on this blazer (and then saw the crazy price), I knew I would not be leaving TJ Maxx without it! Full retail price, this blazer cost $675 (insert monkey covering eyes emoji here), but it was marked down to only $60!!!! You guys, that is literally 9% of the price. SO good. While, yes the bargain is amazing, this blazer itself is everything. The quality is like no other I own and I love that it's bit oversized. I'll be able to style it in so many different ways throughout all seasons. WOOHOO!

Details: Theory Blazer (via TJ Maxx) and Francesca's Collections dress (old).

Kyle and I attended our friend's wedding on Saturday, which was the perfect excuse for me to hit up the Dry Bar for a blow out. I wore the above to the appointment and to run errands prior to the wedding.

Details: Gap shirt (old, similar here), Target shorts, Sole Society sandals (no longer available), Tory Burch bucketbag (older and no longer available, but similar here)

I wish I could get a blowout everyday!!

I purchased this dress at Nordstrom's last week for the wedding and it is just perfect. So lightweight and the fit is just perfect. I felt comfortable all night and was able to dance the night away!

Details: BB Dakota dress (via Nordstrom), Nine West Heels, and Madewell bracelet.

The hubs was looking pretty spiffy at the wedding, as well. No lie, he planned this outfit a week in advance!

I wore these earrings with the green lace dress to the wedding. I have a hard time wearing necklaces or even most bracelets for that matter, with lace because I feel they always catch and snag the lace! These earrings added a touch of fun to the outfit without being too much. Plus, I'm a sucker for anything gold and white so, you know, these were perfect!

Details: Aqua earrings via Bloomingdales - on sale for $9!!

Hope you all have a great week!

Primark Store Opening Event

I was lucky enough to attend the grand opening of Primark's Boston flagship store in Downtown Crossing on Wednesday evening!! If you're not familiar with Primark, let me open your eyes and blow your mind! Primark is Europe's go-to retailer for fast fashion -- I like to think of it as H&M on speed -- seriously, think trendy clothes at CRAZYYY affordable prices.

When I studied abroad in England a few years back, my friends and I basically lived at Primark for all essentials. They not only offer clothing for both men, women, and children, but also have a home section! We got EVERYTHING there -- shorts, dresses, shoes, sheets, make-up wipes, the list goes on.

So when I was invited to the opening, it was a NO BRAINER as I have been waiting YEARS for Primark to arrive in the good ol' US of A. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The space itself is amazing. Four floors filled with chunky knits, faux fur, accessories for days, trendy shoes, oversized sweaters, etc. It was just TOO good (I obviously walked away with some goodies).

What I wore to the event: Theory oversized blazer (found at TJ Maxx on super cray cray sale, but similar style here), Francesca's dress, Nine West heels (also found at TJ Maxx, but similar here), and Coach bag.

The hubs was able to attend the store opening with me and he had so much fun. It was a nice excuse for a mid-week date night! Also, can we discuss how well he did with his outfit? He was getting compliments left and right!

I regret not buying this adorable heart pillow -- it was only $5!!! gahhhh

What I especially loved was that Primark paid tribute to the original occupier of the building, Filene's!

Primark is officially open to the public, as of today, so go get shopping people!! I promise you won't regret it!

Fall Staples

I can feel Fall is just around the corner and I am SO SO excited. There is nothing better than oversized sweater, fur vests, and a good pair of booties. I've rounded up my must haves for this upcoming Fall season in the picture above. The 70's are coming back y'all, so get your fringe, flare, and suede ready! Also, I am in love with the lace-up flat trend and cannot wait to add these to my shoe collection!

Here's to cooler temps and comfy clothes that come along with it!

Oh and since it's almost officially LDW, I hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend!!

California Recap

Hi everyone! Long time no chat. These past few weeks have been a little cray cray at the Stevenson household. We were out in California for a week and then came back and started packing up our apartment for the big move. We moved to a great condo and I still can't get over ALL OF THE SPACE WE HAVE. Oh and living like someone in the 21st century with a washer/dryer (sorry mom and dad, no more Sunday trips home to do laundry), dishwasher, and central air (!!!!) has been unbelievable.

The new place is amazing, but dang, I seriously hate moving. I'm not sure anyone actually likes moving, now that I think about it, but I definitely will be hiring movers the next go around.

Any who, I've been mean to put a recap post together from our California trip so here goes nothing! We mainly stayed in the LA area, as we were out there for our friend's wedding, and I must say, I definitely enjoyed LA a lot more this time around than I have during past trips.

We started out our trip in Beverly Hills where we stayed at the The Beverly Hilton for two nights. You guys, this hotel is seriously amazing (oh and it's where the Golden Globes are hosted every year - the first picture below was taken where the red carpet normally is!!)! Seriously so cool. When not taking photos on red carpet (#celebstatus), we spent a lot of time out by the pool, which was a-ok with me. I seriously needed a tan.

And they had these AMAZINGLY delicious Cosmo Ice Pops that were available pool side.

Rose bouquets sitting pretty in the lobby.

Took a quick spin to see the Hollywood Sign - a must do when playing tourist!

While still in Beverly Hills, we headed over to see the Urban Lights at the LACMA! I have been DYING to go to this exhibit so you can only imagine how excited I was when I got Kyle to take me there!

Wearing a Loft top, Target pants, and Nine West heels.

One last morning by the pool.

The next morning, we headed over to spend the next day/night in Santa Monica. We stayed at the JW Marriott, which was right on the water and only two blocks away from the Pier - such a great location! We headed to the beach for a little bit that afternoon and then Kyle went off to golf with friends, so I of course did some shopping! I purchased this blouse from Banana Republic and cannot wait to share it on the blog!

We had a pretty low key night while in Santa Monica (dinner ended up being late night at In-and-Out!), but we got up and made our way over to Blue Daisy for breakfast the following day, which was yum yum yummy!

Quick pit stop at the DryBar in Santa Monica to get wedding ready before we left the city!

If you happen to visit this DryBar location, ask for Amy. She is legit amazing!

We pulled over while driving along Pacific Coast Highway (another must-do!) and put our feet in the water and just enjoyed the view!

Wearing a Loft dress and Jack Rogers sandals.

The most delicious lemonade we've ever had. Now I understand the hype around this place!

Lazy mornings with bad hotel coffee were also a-ok with me.

Wearing J. Crew shirt and Target pants (literally wore these every other day on our trip!)

Our friends got married at Sherwood Country Club and the views were absolutely breathtaking!! The ceremony and cocktail hour took place on this patio.

Wore this Loft dress to the wedding (I've been waiting to wear this dress forevahhh)!

We had the best trip and I'm already itching to get back to the west coast!

**all photos taken via my iPhone 6+ and were shared on Instagram (follow along if you're not already! @mackenziehaley).
