Leopard & Neon

Shirt: H&M // Skirt: LOFT // Shoes: Ellen Tracy (old) // Clutch: America Apparel // Watch: MK // Bracelets: J. Crew Factory and little shop in NYC // Rings: NOVICA and gifted // Sunnies: Ray Ban

Happy Monday everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm pretty happy Monday is over... why is it alwaysss the hardest day to get through?! I decided to jazz up a normal work outfit with this awesome leopard shirt I found at H&M on a shopping whim! I paired it with my neon-yellow skirt from LOFT that is one of my favs... the color is so fun and perfect for Spring and Summer days at the office. The leopard and neon are two totally contrasting ideas and yet, the combo makes for a chic look! Now if this outfit feels like it could be a bit too much for your taste or the office, you can calm it down by adding a cute white cardigan or v-neck sweater - that way, the leopard is more of an outfit accent instead of being the focus!

Hope your weeks are off to a great start! Xo

Tips for Spring

Happy Sunday all! It's time to pull out the bright colors, floral skirts, and sandals ladies because Spring is on the way here (hopefully?)! Some of you may be thinking how to transition your closet from Winter to Spring? This is where balance comes into play with your wardrobe. The chambray shirt is a great Spring staple so don't pack it away with the winter clothes just yet! Pairing it with a floral skirt and a pair of comfortable wedges creates a fun, cute, and chic look! Add a pop of color and some baubles to glam it up.  If you plan to be outside at all, throw on a chic pair of sunnies (or at least keep them with you in your bag!).  I threw in the bow for good measure as it is definitely something I would wear, but if that's not your style then change it up - hair down with a headband, messy side-braid, sleek pony... the hair options are endless!

Since this is my first real 'style tip' post, I would love to hear what you guys think! Is this helpful? Should I do more posts like this? If so, what would you like to see? I would love to hear your opinions!

Enjoy your day! Xo

Weekend Wish List

via
Happy weekend everyone! There's nothing better than waking up in the morning and realizing it's the weekend... cue 'Happy Dance'! I hope you all have an amazing weekend ahead!

I wanted to take a minute to share some sad but exciting news! This will be my last weekend living in NYC :( I am lucky enough to have found a new job, which I am veryyy excited about; however, it requires me to move back to Boston! While a part of me is sad to be leaving NYC, I recognize I am SO lucky that I had the opportunity to live here, even if it was only for a short time, and I cannot wait to move closer to home and my family! So I see it only fitting to spend my last weekend here exploring and obviously doing a little shopping... shocking, I know! Here are a few some things that I currently have my eye on:

Fold-over clutches like this one, this one, and especially this one
This linen shirt for the warm days to come (hopefully...).
These amazing drop earrings.
Love a super cute jersey dress for the office!
The perfect pair of jean shorts.
Obsessing over these metallic pumps!
This coffee table book is a must!
Obsessed is an understatement when it comes to this skirt!
Jeweled cuff? Yes please!
A cute patterned tray to hold baubles is always necessary!
This ring is great for everyday wear and comes in many different colors!
I may have an obsession with chain necklaces...!

Also, I wanted to share some goodies that I bought yesterday at Zara! I literally go into that store and instantly want everythinggg - it takes some serious physical restrain to not buy the whole store every time I go in there! While I didn't buy the whole store (even though I reallyyy wanted to), I was lucky enough to bring these beauties home with me:

I nearly died over this blazer... I saw it and knew I just had to have it, no questions asked! I love how bold the blue is and the pattern is a little different then some of the other things we've been seeing this Spring! I can't wait to style this baby up in different ways - be on the lookout for some outfit posts! Also, the necklace was a must - how could I resist such a beautiful bauble? Oh wait... I can't!

You can buy the blazer here and the necklace here

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and happy shopping!

Less is More

Happy Thursday! Hope everyone is having a great week! I wore this outfit a few weeks ago when my family and I went into Boston for restaurant week! Sometimes less is more when putting together an outfit - there are many-a-times where I over accessorize or throw a bunch of things together that I have to say to myself "Even I think this is too much!" (please tell me I'm not the only one..??)! So for this night out with the fam, I decided on my velvet brocade pants and a simple taupe-colored blouse. I figured it was the last chance I was going to get to wear my velvet pants this season... silly me, thinking Spring would actually arrive on time?!

(please ignore the odd color deck... mid-repairs... that just don't seem to be getting fully repaired)!

Shirt: F21 (old) // Pants: Zara (this winter) // Heels: Nine West (via TJ Maxx) // Clutch: Aldo // Pearls: Nordstrom Rack // Watch: MK // Bracelets: TJ Maxx and J. Crew // Sunnies: Color in Optic

Swoon for Miss Wu

Hi Everyone! So I was browsing through Fashionista.com on Monday and stumbled up an article about Jason Wu's second Miss Wu collection for Fall 2013... and it's quite lovely! Described as a collection with "60's Flare", it's filled with colorful patterns, fun prints, bold pieces, and a whole lot of Mod with a modern twist! Here are a few of my favorite looks:

The dresses, skirts, and shirts are bold and feminine all at once, they just draw me right in - I want everything! You can find more looks from the collection here! The author of the article says it best:

"The collection clearly continues to be an outlet for Wu’s ’60s obsession with groovy colors and patterns, short shift dresses and colorful oxfords layered under everything, lending the whole collection a librarian-chic feel."       - Dhani Mau

.... I especially love the "librarian-chic" description - how true and SO up my alley!

What do you guys think of the collection?!

Simple Stripes

I've gotta say... I'm reallyyyy loving Old Navy's spring collection that's out right now! How cute is this dress?! Not only is it on trend with Black & White, but the jersey knit material and simple stripe pattern make it comfy, cute, and super versatile! Long enough to wear to work with heels or flats, and it still has a short enough hemline to wear out on a warm day or out at night with friends!

Not to mention the pockets... definitely my favorite aspect of this dress!

And my Guess heels make another appearance... I am SO in love with them! I styled them a little more casually here!

Dress: Old Navy // Necklace: Bauble Bar // Heels: Guess // Watch: MK // Bracelets: J. Crew // Sunnies: Color in Optics

A few other Old Navy dresses I'm loving:

Love this... also comes in black/white stripes! Definitely would pair this with a skinny belt and wedges!
Perfect for those summer nights! Can be found here!
The perfect printed Spring/Summer dress!

Hope all of your weeks are off to a great start! Xo

Navy & Yellow

Skirt: H&M // Tank: F21 (old) // Blazer: J. Crew (old) // Shoes: Target (old) // Bag: Coach // Sunnies: Ray Ban // Watch: MK // Bracelets: J. Crew, Kate Spade, and gifted from C. Wonder // Necklace: Target (old) // Lapis ring: KiraKira Jewelry // Pearl Earrings: Kate Spade (old)

Hi Everybody! Just wanted to show a few pictures of my new H&M skirt! I love the pleat detail in the front and the pattern is so cute! Plus, I can never resist a good Navy/Yellow combo, hence my Coach Legacy Mini Tanner making ANOTHER appearance (it really is the best)... can also be seen here, here, here, and here

Getting a little personal...
I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much this week! As some of you may or may not know, I am a Boston girl, born and raised, and have a deep love for the city that I have grown up in. The attack at the Boston Marathon, usually the best day of the year for us, emotionally hit me hard and shook me to the core. I was in a state of shock. You never think these kinds of things will happen to your home... and then it does...

Being in NYC when the news hit, I instantly got on the phone to call my family and friends to make sure all were safe and sound. Thankfully, they were! However, some were not as lucky. All I've been thinking about is how unfair and unjust this horrific act of terror is. A day that represents so much to so many people ruined in an instant. Lives lost, people injured, and the spirit of a city hindered. However, this hindering only lasted a second, as many brave and strong people ran towards the explosions to help those in need, and that says more about our city than the attack on it. We stand together, always have and always will. I have no doubt in my mind the people responsible will be found and brought to justice, because we will accept nothing less. I'm proud to call Boston my home, and I know this will only make us stronger.

Banana Republic Fall RTW 2013

Last week Banana Republic had a showing of their Fall 2013 Ready-to-Wear collection and I must say, it is pretty fabulous! NOT that I'm wanting to rush through Spring/Summer, but I feel like this collection definitely deserves a nod for it's feminine lines, chic color scheme, and classic take on today's trends for the every-day woman!

Obsessing over this fit and flare coat with bow belt and fur collar... this will be a must have! The window pane pants are amazing, as is the classic touch they put on the shorts/tights combo with a plain white shirt and pattern shorts.

This tweed blazer/polka dot button-down/brocade pants outfit... amazinggg.  And how cute is this flirty leather skirt??

Royal Blue heaven. This scallop lace top in the middle and the skirt in the last look are some of my favs!!

But my favorite is this fur jacket... I'm seriously drooling over it... I must must must have this. No questions asked. How amazingly chic and classy - this will be an item to last in the closet forever.

This burgundy outfit is so lovely - long leather skirt, bow belt, gingham shirt, and a matching fur snood... words can't describe.  It's a little preppy, a little edgy, and a whole lot of classy.

The Men's wear is looking prettyyyy spiffy... love all of the layering of sweaters, blazers, and dress shirts. The red jacket is also great and the plaid pants are always a check plus in my book!

At least we know that we have some amazing clothes awaiting our closets when the months turn cold again... if they have turn warm!

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!
